Dear Enrico,
as stated before by Guillermo, Csound will be capable of encoding 6th order if you write an UDO for that. Actually I will do this too as my current project, but mine will probably not be ready in time within the deadline of ISAC, so I will not submit.
On the decoding side I'd like to point out Fons Adriaensens decoder called ambdec. This runs on Linux only though, but is capable of decoding different types of encoded material (different channel order and normalisation). It is capable of decoding up to 3rd order material to various layouts of speakers. Via Jack it goes well together with Csound, so you may even send your 3rd order channels to ambdec and receive the decoded speaker feeds in realtime.
