This is a major step forward in a time of amazing, brilliant, and hard work that will help so many others get into CsoundUnity. Thank you so much. I only wish you were here in Trapani to present this work, but your new baby does correctly take priority over this code-baby of yours.

the first pre release of CsoundUnity 4.0 is out:

It is the largest release since 3.0: Csound 7 on macOS, Windows, iOS, Android and WebGL, Unity Timeline integration, audio routing between instances, UI
components built from your Cabbage widgets, and an API to start, stop and restart Csound when you want.

Two of them are worth their own line:

Low latency audio input through each platform’s own API: CoreAudio, WASAPI, AAudio in exclusive mode, AudioUnit. Captured frames reach Csound’s spin
buffer every ksmps, so inch reads them directly, with no detour through Unity’s audio engine. Android in exclusive mode gets to about 4 ms at
48 kHz. On WebGL the browser microphone goes through the same API, capped at two channels because every browser caps it there.

MIDI input on every platform behind a single component: CoreMIDI on macOS, iOS and visionOS, android.media.midi on Android, WinMM on Windows, and the
Web MIDI API in the browser. Short messages for now.

To try it, open the Unity Package Manager, Add package from git URL, and paste
https://github.com/rorywalsh/CsoundUnity.git#v4.0.0-alpha.1
Unity 2022.3 LTS or newer.

It is an alpha, and the notes say what is unfinished rather than hiding it. Two
things need hardware I do not have: iOS is built but has never run on a device,
and visionOS still ships a Csound 6 library. If you can test either, please open
an issue.
