Thanks for sharing these new pieces. The timbres, particularly in
Slowing Beat, are interesting. Did you use sampled sounds for the
complete piece, or is the melodic instrument synthesized in Csound? Also
I am interested in the drums? Did you use a similar kind of acoustic
drums at the source? If so, how did you process the drums? The effect is
cinematic to my ears. A bit eerie, almost menacing, with the transient
on the snare instrument so dark and indistinct. It feels almost like
FFT-based time stretching plus additional effects.
Hi,
I used sampled sound + effects. The drum sound was simply stretched with time warping. The other sounds are read at different speed to get the notes of a pentatonic scale.
