[Csnd] CsoundQt beta on Mac: No Input?

is anyone else here using / trying out csoundqt beta for csound 7?

i cannot get any real-time audio input.
it works on the same machine with CsoundQt 1.1.3 (and Csound 6).

I can confirm this on the Mac - input works only on the terminal.

thanks in advance for looking into it.
if you have time for a small improvement:
the footer with the short syntax is not really visible in dark mode (white on white if i recall correctly).
