Re: [Csnd] [ANN] Csound music

This was an interesting listen, thanks for sharing. I liked the
movement/articulation of the sounds in Chaos Game, occasionally
reminiscent of an orchestra.

May I ask how you created the harmonic, slightly metallic timbre in
Nubi? Some of the lower and longer notes sound like noise pased through
resonant filters, others sound like pure additive synthesis with sine
oscillators.

Nubi is a drone, actually a chord with one note shuffling after a certain
amount of time. Probably I used also FM synthesis or Ring modulation in
some parts.

The piano in Ritmo Evanescente is good for the low notes. Is that based
on a sample or Karplus-Strong/waveguide synthesis?

Nubi, Ritmo evanescente and Chaos game are all made with sound samples. In
Ritmo evanescente the samples are read at different speed (using the 12 notes
of tempered system), that's why the piano looks like a guitar at certain higher
frequencies. There are in total six instruments (tambourine, mallet, vibraphone,
viola, piano, altoflute). The viola in some parts was modified by FM synthesis.

Have a good time with Csound!

Nice, Luca. Listening now. I started with the “Forbidden Planet” track, b/c I adore that movie. Great homage!

Moving on to “Nubi” now…creates an eerie mood. You mentioned it was a drone with “shuffling” happening. It almost sounds like a granular technique here…is it?
