[Csnd] [Music] Feather Cruise

Hey hey,
a new track with a fair bit of Csound:

It's a crossover between baroque music and electro. I tried to go for a harder sound, but it still feels like pretence.

The flute was played by Ritual Notes. Csound was responsible for anything drum, the Mbira and even a bit of a guitar instrument. The drums are all generated by a set of UDOs, still in development. They were rendered and loaded into LinuxSampler, while the melodic instruments were played/recorded live, well with a MIDI sequencer.

On top of that we have another Linux softsynth Yoshimi for several basses and analogue and digital hardware for more synth basses, arpeggios and the soft synth lead.

Enjoy and best wishes,

Jeanette

Jeanette,

Lovely,

The opening is so lovely.
The flute is beautiful.
I only wish that were one of your many great Csound instruments, but the melodies and the playing are glorious.
I can’t wait until you share your super drum UDOs with the world.
Thank you for all your great and inspiring work.
The ending is great as the eras come together.
I think that so many of us, like you, and like this piece, work in the present but live in both the past and the future.

I share your work with my students every semester - in DSP and Csound Class, and with my new group of brilliant High Schoolers who are doing research, physical modeling, and sonification work.

Also, as you know, and thank you for these, some of your instruments and music also live now in CsoundMeta, and many of my students and I are composing and remixing them!

Take care.

Hello Richard,
many thanks for your kind words. I passed them on to the flautist as well. It was a lot of fun doing it, mixing the styles and sounds.

As an aside: if one of your students has a "remix" of one of my pieces and would be willing to share, I'd love to hear where it could be taken.

Best wishes,

Jeanette
