Hey hey,
I'm tinkering with wavetables. I would like to convert an audio sample to a wavetable. Say some speech. There are many hard- and software synthesizers that can do that with varying degrees of quality and accuracy. I know that the problem isn't as trivial as cutting up a sample and putting slices into different ftables. But I would think that there are reasonably simple methods to create an approximation. Something like the 4ms Spherical Wavetable Navigator SWN eurorack module does that onboard and I would assume the method used isn't too complex to be performed on such a small piece of hardware.
Just to get an idea of the resulting wavetable. It's a very short video.
Beyond pitch tracking and FFT converting the audio with further trickery. Does anyone of you have a good idea? A place to start?
Best wishes,
Jeanette
